Neglectful Mother

It was a nice day I was laying my two year old son down for his nap. Everything was quiet I assumed he was asleep. After about twenty minuets I went in to check on him. I was mortified when I saw him. He was covered from head to toe in blood. I mean covered you couldn’t see the color of his skin. I picked him up and took him to the bath room; I turned on the shower to see where it had come from. It was his butt. He had scratched his butt raw. Both cheeks, the whole cheek. I started to cry and cry. See he had had this rash and I put destine and all kinds of butt rash medicine on him. But it never went away. I even changed his diapers and it was still their. I had changed some things he was eating in case it was that, that was breaking him out. The doctor had told me to put cortisone on him and he would be fine. Well when I got him all cleaned off I had wrapped him in a towel and took him to the hospital, I was just so scared. My husband was out of town and I couldn’t reach him I was mortified. When I got there it took the usual about an hour to get in, we sat there for about another hour and then here came the doctor. He told me it was because I didn’t change his diaper enough. Well I was mad because I would change him all the time even when he wasn’t wet I felt he had worn it to long. This man told me “you are being a neglectful mother”. I wanted to die it broke my heart. The nurse came in and gave my son a shot and some pink medicine. Right before we left the doctor came to me and said “you know he may just be allergic to diapers all together, you should just potty train him and he will be fine”. And then he walked off I wanted to slap him in his big stupid face for making me feel like crap. I had moved my sons’ bed beside ours and he slept naked for two weeks. When anything would touch his rear he would just cry. Except when I put calamine lotion on it. And it helped dry up his butt. When he was able to walk again I potty trained him, and he has been fine since then.
